MATCH REPORT Ladies 3 vs Bicester 2
Wootton Wanderers Ladies 3s travelled down to Bicester for what they knew would be a tough game.
After a well drilled warm up, the girls stepped out onto the pitch with their main focuses in their head of controlling the ball and marking our players. From the outset, it was clear Bicester would dominate. In the opening 10 minutes, they scored 3 times putting Wootton at a disadvantage.
The first half continued in this way with Bicester firing the goals away to reach an 8-0 scoreline at half time. However, the midfield and forwards for wanderers worked well to move up the pitch with the ball with some excellent overlapping runs and teamwork on the ball. A structured and tactical half time team talk from vice Captain Iz set the girls out for a stronger second half.
The girls had their heads screwed on which was evident in their defensive display. Their marking had improved and their determination was highly commendable with the midfield and forwards working tirelessly to help defend whilst creating some lovely passages of play up the pitch.
Bicester’s talent shone throughout as they managed to score 4 more goals to bring the final score to a 12-0 defeat for Wanderers. A lot to be taken from this game but unfortunately it was not to be for the girls.
