MATCH REPORT M2 v Oxford 7’s
Men’s 2 travelled to face a strong Oxford 7s side. The team started strongly, matching the opposition for much of the first half despite some interesting umpiring decisions that disrupted their rhythm. Goals from Mitch (assisted by Lee) and Mark who was on hand to knock home from a short corner, kept the game competitive, with the score standing at 3–2 to Oxford at halftime.
In the second half, Oxford’s fitness and sharpness began to show. As the goals mounted, heads started to drop, and the home side took full advantage. Men’s 2 battled hard but gradually ran out of energy and motivation, allowing Oxford to pull away to a convincing 10-2 final scoreline.
Man of the Match Mitch Jimes
For his tireless work rate and well-taken goal. His attacking presence was a constant threat and a standout positive in a challenging game.
