MATCH REPORT Ladies 3 vs Oxford 6
On an early saturday morning, the Ladies 3s travelled to Oxford for an early pushback of 10am. The team had many focuses in mind with an aim to implement their strategies into the game.
The match began with Wootton showcasing fluid passing. However 3 minutes into the game oxford executed a penalty corner, taking an early lead. Wootton quickly switched to a defensive setup, working hard to fend off Oxford’s relentless attacks.
Despite their best efforts, oxford scored 3 goals in quick succession. The home sides pressure began to mount but Wootton got up the pitch and earned a penalty corner but they were unable to convert. just before half time.
Oxford struck again to bring the score to 5-0 at half time. The second half saw the girls regroup and renewed determination and energy.
They focused on teamwork and letting the ball do the work as they pushed forward.
Despite some promising attacks, oxford managed to find a break, scoring their 6th of the match.
Wootton tightened their defence, showing resilience a fighting spirits. They continued to create chances but when met with a strong opposition, Oxford found their 8th and final goal of the match, sealing the score at 8-0 for the home side.
