MATCH REPORT Ladies 3 vs Enigma 1
The ladies’ 3s faced off against Enigma in a competitive match. With a few tired legs from the Saturday picture, the girls entered the game with determination and enthusiasm.
The match began with Wootton applying early pressure, showcasing their intent to dominate. Both teams displayed strong defensive capabilities, resulting in a balanced game. Enigma had several changes but Wanderers defence, led by goalkeeper Sarah stood firm, denying Enigma the lead. Despite Wootton not having many attacking breakthroughs, their defensive resilience allowed them to maintain a 0-0 scoreline at halftime.
As the second half commenced, Wanderers found their rhythm and began to attack with renewed vigour. The midfield saw beautiful link-up play from the youngsters effectively transferring the ball to the forwards creating promising opportunities. However, Enigma managed to convert a penalty corner, striking fiercely to take a 1-0 lead.
Wootton responded with an aggressive attacking push, dominating the final 10 minutes of the game. With most players committed to the attack, they were determined to score an equaliser. As the match finished, Wootton were awarded a penalty corner. The team came together, eager to convert but luck was not on their side and the final score was 1-0 in favour of the visitors.
