MATCH REPORT Ladies 2 vs Enigma 1
The ladies 2s travelled to Enigma in Milton Keynes. With a spell of frost in the morning sun, the game was delayed 15 minutes from the scheduled pushback time.
The girls were determined to make their mark in the crucial stage of the league, especially after a convincing win in the reverse fixture. Right from the whistle, Wanderers began the match with intensity, utilising every player to apply pressure and maintain possession.
However it was enigma that struck first, taking an early lead despite claims of the ball picking up a foot in the process were raised, but dismissed by the match officials.
Rather than letting the spirits wane, Wootton rallied together, determined to equalise before half time.

As the second half commenced, the sun shone down, but with it came the strain of tired legs. The girls pushed forward relentlessly and came agonisingly close to finding the back of the net. Some questionable decisions led to missed opportunities that could have turned the tide in Wootton’s favour.
The physicality of the match increased as both teams fought fiercely for every ball determined to score. Despite their best efforts, the game concluded with a narrow 1-0 defeat for Wanderers.
