On a reasonably sunny afternoon, the Ladies 2s faces Leighton buzzard, fully aware of the challenges faced by their previous encounter, eager to secure a win and climb the leauge standings.
Wanderers battled hard throughout the first half, creating several chances on goal, but whilst struggling to gel effectively, the scoreline remained goalless at half time.
A strong half time teamtalk with many different inputs fired up the girls for their second half.
As the second half commenced, the girls found their rhythm and began to link up exceptionally well, resulting in a flurry of opportunities onto goal. Their defensive unit also stepped up with tight marking and increased determination to thwart any attacks from Leighton.
In the final 15 minutes, the pressure intensified, leading to a series of short corners. A perfect slap from Kat found the backboard and put Wanderers ahead.
Riding the wave of adrenaline, the girls raised their intensity and fought hard to hold onto their lead. The final whistle blew and the match concluded with a hard-fought 1-0 victory to Wootton, leaving the team buzzing with excitement and a well-deserved trip to the pub!
