MATCH REPORT L1 v Witney

L1 v Witney 20/04/24

The ladies 1s made it to CCS this weekend for their last game of the season V Witney 3s, in fact they were WWHC’s last game of the season!
The sun was shining, the attitude was positive, and with promotion clinched, the girls wanted to have a fun last run out.

LB Anna made lots of leads up the pitch whilst RB Connie covered Witney’s attacks brilliantly. The midfield showed off their perfectly practiced passing triangles once again and it wasn’t long until the hard work paid off.

After some dry spells Sophie decided she wanted the ball, with lots of calling for the ball from the rest of the team she was adamant this goal was hers, and thank god she didn’t pass, she once again lined up with a backswing and smashed the ball into Witney’s net!!

Not long after Amie dribbled around the oppo’s defence as we have seen her do time and time again with ease, she pushed the ball towards the bottom left of the goal, cheeky Jess lunged in on post and dinked the ball in to claim the goal as her own!

Although missing Michelle we had some lovely halftime oranges and set up again. The second half was quieter, lots of goals were lined up but Witney’s keeper was very solid and kept out attempts out of her goal. Down the WWHC end GK Jade did lots of walking around her D but not much touching of the ball as her defence kept all of Witney’s attacks at bay!!!

The final whistle blew and the ladies had a nice 2-0 win in their bag to round out the season, we will be moving up to SC div 3 north in September and fingers crossed we’ll be in for another exciting year!
