Junior Hockey
At Wootton Wanderers hockey club, our Juniors program goes beyond just teaching hockey skills – it’s about developing the young person as a whole.
We aim to provide fun and engaging hockey for all ages and abilities, ranging from sessions on how to hold a stick, to match scenario drills and all of the skills in between. We do this while focusing on building life skills such as resilience, communication, and self-esteem. As the Juniors are the future of our club, we ensure that they receive the best coaching from fully qualified coaches who are also DBS checked and first aid trained.
Our goal is to create a positive environment where children can have fun, improve their hockey skills, and build strong relationships with a supportive network around them.
Pathways Through the Club
We pride ourselves on providing a clear and supportive pathway for our Junior players to transition seamlessly into our adult teams. Our Junior programs focus on developing fundamental skills, teamwork, and a love for the game.
When ready, Juniors have the chance to join our senior teams, where they can continue to grow and excel in a competitive environment.
This structured pathway ensures that every player, regardless of their starting point, has the opportunity to reach their full potential within the club.
How to Join
Our Juniors train on a Saturday morning from 9.00am to 10.00am at Northampton High School NN4 6UU with qualified coaches who also hold full DBS checks.
