MATCH REPORT Ladies 1 vs Milton Keynes 2
The Ladies 1s faced their closest away game this weekend against MK. As our local rivals we knew how they played and were keen to use our calm play against their classic hockey style.
This first half didn’t bring much excitement, the opposition GK faced multiple shots and dispatched of them with ease, and our defenders used their strengths to battle the forwards and deny them of any goals.
With the scoreline being 0-0 at half time we focused on how to expose MK and open up their backline.
First on the scoreline was Frankie, who neatly tucked away Easty’s shot from accross the D. With the early advantage heads turned on and the pressure increased towards the goal line. After having her first goal “stolen”, Easty was hungry to increase her goal scoring tally and swept up a cross ball from young Ellie to make it 2-0 to the wanderers.
At the back Stephy B and Abbie were controlling the play, pulling out some spinny skills and showing up the kids with their youthful antics.
Just before the final whistle the wanderers gained a last minute short corner, and the Frankie/Easty duo lined up for another shot on a deflection in to make the final score 3-0 to the L1s.
