Match Report: Wootton 2–0 Thame

Wootton made it back-to-back wins with a deserved 2–0 victory over Thame, controlling the game from the first whistle to the last.

We dominated possession and created chance after chance, but our finishing kept Thame in the game longer than it should have. On another day, the scoreline could easily have been much bigger, although some of the best chances somehow fell to our more defensively inclined players.

The breakthrough came from a short corner, with Joe converting to give Wootton a deserved 1–0 lead before half-time.

The second half followed the same pattern, with Wootton continuing to dictate play. The move of the match ended with Archer calmly finishing a flowing team attack to make it 2–0 and put the game to bed.

Just as important was a superb defensive display. The back line stayed solid throughout, limiting Thame to just one short corner all game and securing a thoroughly deserved clean sheet.
